The Point of Sale (POS) screen delivers power, speed, and flexibility.
1. |
Status bar -- View current status information, such as date and time. |

Custom pane -- Display a Web page with information such as your store's name and address. |

Search box -- Type here to quickly find items or customers by name or number. |
4. |
Task pane -- Quickly access common tasks or transaction information. For example, if you are searching for a customer, the task pane displays a customer list. |

Touch-screen keyboard button -- Display an on-screen keyboard for touch-screen users. |
6. |
Function bar -- Quickly access POS tasks. For example, press F8 to display commands for processing returns. |

Customize the Point of Sale screen
You can customize the Point of Sale screen so your register works the way you do.

Task pad -- Display a custom task pad to provide direct access to specific information or tasks. |

Touch-screen keyboard button -- Display an on-screen keyboard for touch-screen users. |

Status bar -- Hide or show the status bar. |

Transaction pane -- Change the size of the transaction pane and hide or show customer information. |

Whether your customers pay with cash, check, credit or debit, Point of Sale makes sales transactions fast and easy.

Quickly find an item by typing an item number or description in the search box and pressing Enter (or scan an item's bar code). |

Easily modify a transaction
With Point of Sale, you have direct access to the tools and information you need at all points of the transaction process.

Add a customer to the transaction or, after a customer has been added, view the customer's purchase history. |

Cancel the current transaction. |

Remove the selected line item from a transaction. |

View or edit information about the selected line item. |

Get acquainted with the Manager screen
The Manager screen is a convenient, central location for managing your store's inventory, customers, employees, and store information.

Content pane -- Displays details about all parts of your store. For example, select Customers in the navigation pane and the content pane displays a list of customers. |
2. |
Menus and toolbar -- Menus contain all the commands needed to use the Point of Sale Manager. The toolbar displays frequently used commands. |
3. |
Navigation pane folder tree -- Quick access to and visual organization of your store's information and management tasks. |
4. |
Navigation pane button area -- Shortcuts to commonly used information and tasks. |
5. |
Status bar -- View current status information, such as date and time. |
6. |
Preview pane -- View details of the current selection in the content pane. |

View a snapshot of your store
My Store is a convenient, central location for managing your store. My Store displays capsule reports — abbreviated versions of the reports included with Point of Sale.

Capsule reports -- Display a snapshot of your store, such as daily sales, top-selling items, or top-selling employees. |
2. |
Capsule report layout -- Quickly rearrange the layout of your capsule reports. |
3. |
Customize your reports -- After you create a custom report, you can display it as a capsule report in My Store. |
4. |
Select a capsule report -- Display the particular capsule reports that are important to you. |
5. |
Display a report -- One click displays the full report — a shortcut to your most common reporting tasks. |

The Point of Sale Manager provides several easy-to-use tools to create, track, and manage your inventory.

Import Wizard -- Import inventory items, customers, suppliers, or physical inventory counts from text files. |

Print labels -- Create and print product labels and price tags in a variety of preset and custom formats, including bar codes. |
