With the opening of The Fox and Firkin at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto in May 1987, Stanley Adelson and Ian Fisher introduced the Firkin concept to Canada . It was the idea of a traditional English neighbourhood pub - where people could enjoy good quaff and good food in good company - that captured their imaginations. The idea captured the imaginations of customers, too. The Fox and Firkin quickly built a stable of "regulars" and the word spread quickly.
In 1992, after establishing four company-owned stores in Toronto , Stanley and Ian decided it was time to franchise. Today, Firkin Pubs are providing fun and fare in Toronto , Aurora , Mississauga , Hamilton , Burlington , Oakville , Cambridge and Vancouver , with three new locations slated to open early in 2001.
Thirteen years after the opening of The Fox and Firkin, The Firkin Group of Pubs has come to appreciate SilverWare POS and the peace of mind it provides. In total there are now 23 Firkin locations using SilverWare. Recently, Fox and Firkin location manager Susanne MacLeod suggested that comprehensive server functions, detailed management reports, and Forsys' commitment to continuous improvement combine to make SilverWare the best system she has ever used. In fact, the program has impressed Susanne so much that she ordered SilverWare for her own Firkin location, The FlatIron and Firkin recently opened at Church and Front Streets in downtown Toronto . |

Pepe's Mexican Restaurant owner Juan Hurtado believes that "consistency is the cornerstone of quality". All locations reflect that philosophy with food quality and service that has earned Pepe's a reputation of consistently high standards in a city whose residents know what good Mexican food is.
Juan appreciates the dependability of SilverWare; the Pick Up feature allows him to track all orders phoned in, food orders can be placed easily and modified quickly, and the reporting functions are comprehensive. As well, at any time during or after business hours Juan can use a computer and modem anywhere to dial up and "see" all the sales at his restaurants in real-time. He enthusiastically comments: “With [our] 5 busy restaurants, we've come to appreciate SilverWare's ease of operation, comprehensive reporting, and solid dependability." |

Nottawasaga Inn Resort is a conference facility and recreation resort situated 45 minutes north of Toronto near Alliston, Ontario in Canada. The hotel is comprised of 269 rooms and suites, 2 dining rooms, a cafe, a piano lounge and 12 halls for catered functions and banquets, with the ability to accommodate over 1300 diners simultaneously. The creation of a 'LeisureDome' in 1994, with a large indoor pool, water slide and fitness facilities has helped attract guests to the resort in winter months, so now the Nottawasaga boasts an impressive rate of occupancy throughout the whole year.Forsys was called in to meet with the owners of the Nottawasaga late in 1995, when the business was in need of a reliable, flexible POS system that could grow as their requirements changed.
SilverWare demonstrated that it contained all of the features necessary to serve the complicated requirements of this expansive resort, and in early 1996 the Nottawasaga became Forsys Corporation's first client to use SilverWare on a Windows 95 platform. SilverWare was selected over Squirrel and Micros to supply a POS solution for a client requiring stations at multiple locations with different menus, a hotel PMS interface, and extensive client billing and reporting functions.
SilverWare POS and SilverWare Inventory are the Nottawasaga's software solution for all food service, golf club, pro shop, and banquet billing. Currently Nottawasaga Inn Resort operates 19 SilverWare POS terminals."It's like driving a Cadillac STS versus a Model T", comments Steve Jones. |

Chicago's South Michigan Avenue is home to some of the most renowned architecture in all of America. The Art Institute of Chicago resides at the heart of this unique group of original buildings, an appropriate setting for one of America's best-known collections of Impressionist Art and possibly the best outdoor cafe in the Chicago Area.
As the person who manages the museum's food and beverage operations, Fred Gizzo says that SilverWare's extensive reporting functions, their ability to charge to house accounts, the ease of use and the moveable floor plan were factors that contributed to the decision to favor SilverWare over competitors. |

Indian Motorcycle was established in 1901 as a manufacturer of an innovative product that would later become known as the motorcycle. The founders, Carl Hedstrom and George Hendee were serious about creating a product that would be recognized for its enduring quality, attention to detail, and innovative design. The Indian Motorcycle went on to represent the best of what a motorcycle was meant to be and became renowned for winning competitions on speed and endurance because of the values set forth by the founders. This was the beginning of the building of the Indian Motorcycle brand. Derived from this past legend comes modern innovation.
In 1999, entrepreneurs opened the first Indian Motorcycle Café & Lounge in downtown Toronto, Canada. The Indian Motorcycle Café & Lounge holds true to the same enduring values of the original motorcycle, by offering a unique fusion of uncompromising quality and innovative design in a cool, comfortable, casual environment. Its classical name and image, mixed with today's club culture genre, has created unique atmospheres offering a casual fine dining, live music, and dancing.
Forsys has installed its SilverWare Point-of-Sale (POS) and Back-Office system at the Indian Motorcycle Café & Lounge in Toronto, Canada and in Copper Mountain, Colorado. Other expansion plans include Blue Mountain, Collingwood, and San Destin, Florida. "We see ourselves as innovators in the restaurant industry", stated Rick Ocvirk, General Manager. "It made sense to work with one of the most innovative technology companies in the hospitality industry today. Before selecting SilverWare, we used a number of systems and performed extensive research on many other systems. SilverWare provides us the most effective solution for efficiently managing our operations." |
